Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Dr. Suhair Abbas, a faculty member from the College of Health and Medical Technologies \u2013 Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques at Heritage University, participated in the 3rd International Specialized Scientific Conference on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Organized by Middle Technical University (MTU) under the slogan 'Autistic Children\u2026 Energy, Creativity, Investment,' the conference took place on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Babylon Rotana Hotel.<\/p>\n
The conference was attended by the President of Middle Technical University, Prof. Dr. Waddah Amer Al-Tamimi, representing His Excellency the Minister. The event also saw the presence of several university presidents, college deans, and an elite group of researchers and specialists from both within and outside Iraq. With international participation from various Arab and foreign countries, the conference gained a distinct scientific and humanitarian dimension.<\/p>\n
The conference highlighted Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) from medical, psychological, social, and educational perspectives. It emphasized the vital importance of integration between academic, healthcare, and community institutions in supporting and empowering this group, while focusing on harnessing their energies and creative capabilities.<\/p>\n
Heritage University\u2019s participation reaffirms its active role in supporting scientific and research activities and enhancing the presence of its faculty members in specialized international conferences. This engagement contributes to the exchange of expertise and keeps pace with modern scientific developments, particularly in the health and humanitarian fields.<\/p>\n
The conference proceedings featured scientific sessions, specialized lectures, and practical workshops, along with artistic segments, exhibitions, and a charity bazaar that showcased the creativity of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The event concluded with a set of recommendations calling for the expansion of specialized centers, the intensification of early detection programs, and increased support for scientific research and specialized training in this field.<\/p>\n
